Hi there!
I happened across Myoho-In Temple as I was walking from one popular temple for autumn fall colors to another popular temple for autumn fall colors – Tofukuji Temple to Kiyomizu-dera Temple!
Between these 2 famous temples is about a 45 minute walk, and if you’re not really feel like walking this extra amount (there’s likely lots of walking in your day no matter what!), then there’s also a bus that will get you between these 2 places that will require a little less walking.
But if you do decide to walk, you’ll come across a couple of less tourist visited spots, including Myoho-In Temple! (Chishaku-In Temple is another.)

This might not be a place you would go out of your way to visit, unless you’re chasing fall colors and spots with less people!
But if you’ll be going from Tofukuji to Kiyomizu-dera, then this could be along the way if you decide to walk between these two areas.
This is a pretty short walk around the temple grounds, and it’s right off the main road, so it can be an easy stop to make as you’re doing the walk.
And when I went in November (practically December) 2019… it was FREE!

And now…
The fall foliage you might see with a walk around Myoho-in Temple grounds!
…aka photos to see koyo (fall foliage!) in Kyoto!

And that’s a bit of what you might see around the peak of fall colors in Kyoto at Myoho-in Temple!
Then, if you’re making the walk from Tofukuji Temple to Kiyomizu-dera Temple, you can make your way back to the main road to continue your walk to the next temple! When coming from Tofukuji, you can also make a stop at Chishaku-in Temple before stopping by Myoho-in Temple.

HAPPY SEEING AUTUMN COLORS IN KYOTO AT MYOHO-IN TEMPLE!
